CC-1997, nicknamed "Clutch", was a skilled clone commander in the Grand Army of the Republic who served in the Galaxy Wars. He was a member of the 345th Allegiance Corps, which was kept so secretive he had to be billed as a member of the Torrent Company.

Biography

Onboard the Interpreter

While Clutch was onboard the starcruiser Interpreter, he told the story of "Cliffhanger", which involved his time during an operation on the planet Tikus. He managed to impress most of the passengers with the tale. During the telling of the tale, it was apparent that he had a certain respect for Commander Bow based on his praising choice of words.

Induction Into the 345th Allegiance Corps

"I had no choice in the matter. It's an honor, though. Even if it was an option, I'd feel wrong down-turning such an opportunity. What's a bald head when you got a better life ahead of you?"

Clutch became an extremely well trained and educated member of the Grand Army of the Republic, and it was decided that he would join the 345th Allegiance Corps, an extremely secretive unit of the Grand Army. Upon doing so, he was forced to shave his head in order to match the uniform requirements and safety protocol. Shortly after being in the corps, he was permitted to tell the clones onboard the Destroyer about his induction. However, most of them were, at first, against Clutch's new shaved head, as his flattop with swirls shaved into it had been his trademark for a long while.

Personality and Traits

CC-1997 "Clutch" was an extremely war-hardened individual who took every situation seriously. While he did believe in individualism, he also thought it was important to follow regulations to an extent. In addition, he was not strict to regulation, and felt that doing the right thing would override any kind of rule that was broken in the process.

Clutch was known for his elaborate haircut, which was a 1" high flattop with elaborate swirls and designs shaved into the side. Upon becoming a commander, he began wearing a copper-colored cape, which was extremely unique to him since no other clones had one. Later on, he became a 345th Allegiance Corps commando, which required him to shave off his hair.

Equipment

When it came to equipment, Clutch almost always carried some kind of blaster rifle and a hand blaster. While serving in the corps, he carried a rocket launcher that he strapped to his back.
