Production
Ol' Bum-Bum is animated using GIMP, an image manipulation/editing software available for free. Episodes are then put together on Windows Movie Maker, where voice recording takes place. Audacity is used for when voice recordings need to appear all at once. Currently, there is no production cost on the series.
Reception
Even though none of the Season One episodes have aired, "Not So Merry Christmas" (the Christmas special) got an excellent reception, with nearly 1,000. The following two specials, "Dependent on Independence" and "Trick or Trap!", did well, however, their combined total of views was still less than "Not So Merry Christmas"'s reception.

- The idea for Ol' Bum-Bum was hatched in 2007.
- It is currently the only animated series by AnimationCity to appear on YouTube.
- Season 1 is planned to air in August, 2014 in order to coincide with the first day of school, as the season focuses on Haliegh going back to school.
- It is Mandalorian1428's favorite show.
- It is rumored that the episodes of Season 5 may be pushed back to a later season.
